The African nation of Cape Verde is the "next big thing" in the foreign property market, one expert has said.
As well as offering plenty to appeal to holidaymakers, the island nation also has a host of benefits for property investors, said Tom Foster from Conti Financial Services.
The international mortgage adviser explained that the country has the potential to follow the same path as recent European hotspots like Bulgaria.
Mr Foster explained that ongoing development plans in the tourist industry, such as a new airport, will increase Cape Verde's appeal as it becomes more accessible to visitors.
"The popularity is there and there is a lot of potential for capital growth," he commented.
"People are always looking for the next big thing and Cape Verde is certainly the name on everybody's lips."
An increased interest in trips to Cape Verde saw Stansted Airport introduce a new flight schedule to include direct services to the destination.
