With the first established International airport in the archipelago, Sal is understandably the most convenient island to visit and, as a result is growing faster than all of the other islands put together.

Sal - Cape Verde

The Island of Sal

The islands that make up Cape Verde lie like a jewelled necklace 300 miles or so off the western coast of Africa and it's fair to say Sal is not the most attractive of the chain - to visit Sal alone is not to do the islands or yourselves justice. Sal is however the perfect destination for water sport lovers and Santa Maria compliments active days on the beach with a good selection of bars and restaurants in which to enjoy the evenings.

Boa Vista - Cape Verde

The Island of Boa Vista

Unlike Sal, Boa Vista has little development and a low key nightlife mainly found within the hotels making this the perfect destination for beach lovers and those wishing to relax and unwind. The 55km of glorious white sand beaches are some of the best in the world where visitors can enjoy long uninterrupted walks along the coastline.

Santiago - Cape Verde

The Island of Santiago

Santiago, with the capital Praia, is the most African of the islands, and provides a fascinating mix of culture, mountainous scenery and tropical plantations. Known for its vibrant nightlife and colourful market, Santiago is a popular choice with much more variety than other islands with plenty to see and do.

Sao Vicente - Cape Verde

The Island of São Vicente

São Vicente, in many ways provides the best combination. Mindelo, its capital and home of the world famous Cape Verdean music, is the cultural centre of the Islands with some of the most popular beaches for windsurfers. Santo Antão, with superb mountainous scenery is only a short ferry journey away and is a popular choice for hikers but at present, the choice of hotels is quite limited.
