Excurions Available around the Island

Prices are indications only.  The exact price will be advised at time of booking whilst in resort.

Please note that some excursions require a minimum number of people to take place.

 

Sailing Boat 'Fidel'

Sail along the coast of Sal with the opportunity to swim.  A whole day on board a sailing boat or just a half-day sailing trip along this island’s southwest coastline is a fantastic experience.

Leaving from the port in Palmeira along the northwest side coast gives you the chance to see the oasis of Fontona, the Lion Mountain and much more till you reach the beautiful bay of Murdeira.

A swim or even fishing or snorkeling with a delicious grilled fish on board for lunch is a perfect way to spend part of your holiday! Minimum 12 persons.

Full day: 9.30-16.30, Lazy Cruise: 1030-1600, Half day: 0830-1400.

Price guide: €67pp Full day. €56pp Lazy Cruise. €40pp Half day.

 

Fun Quad / Buggie

If you have ever thought of driving across white sand beaches, here you have it! Drive along all the natural beauties hidden on this island by quad bike, on a 2.5 hour trip including the old Santa Maria salt flag, the turtle’s cemetery, Shark Bay’s beach, the oasis from Baia do Algodoeiro and the fantastic beach of Ponta Preta – and that’s just half of what you will see! Morning or afternoon sessions available.

Price guide:  
€65 per quad with two passengers or €50 for a quad with only one occupant 
(No discount for children – price is for the quad)

 

Catamaran Trips

A four hour trip starting from the fishing pier at Santa Maria including soft drinks with a choice of either Whale Watching 1400-1800 or Snorkeling 0900-1300. 

Price guide: €40pp

 

Off-Road Explorer

A 2 hour off-road excursion around Sal with an opportunity for a swim included! Minimum 6 persons.  1400-1600.

Price guide: €20pp

 

Jet Skiing

Choose between travvling with a guide or without a guide!

Available every day for minimum 2 jet skis with a guide.

Price guide: 30 minutes: €70pp. 1 hour: €120pp. 2 hours: €200p

Or available every day without a guide.

Price guide: 15 minutes: €35pp. 30 minutes: €60pp. 1 hour: €100pp

 

Fishing

There is a variety of fishing trips available, normally around 4 hours either in the morning or afternoon.  Examples -

Native Fishing from Santa Maria Harbour approx €100 per boat for 1-4 persons 

Captain Toma's Sportboat: Tuna or Wahoo fishing approx €180 per boat 1-2 persons or Common fishing approx €120 per boat 1-2 persons, both for 4 hours.

Fishing Center for big game fishing (Blue Marlin) April - August approx €120-850 depending on size and speed of boat

 

Neptunus

This is a 1 hour excursion  where you are taken to two different wrecks, the Portuguese steam ship "Bolana" and the ship "Santo Antao". You will embark on the Neptunus via Rib boat and have to make your way to the beach. Price is from Santa Maria Pier daily at 1000/1130/1500.  There is also a Night version of this excursion one evening a week at 1900.

Price guide: €30pp / €15 child. Night Excursion  €35pp / €20 child
