This 5* all-inclusive resort is a member of the world's leading hotel chain for holidays – The Sol Meliá group. Having opened in May 2011, the Meliá Tortuga Beach & Spa mixes relaxation and recreation and probably the best quality rooms in Cape Verde!
Located in the south west of the island, just 20 minutes from the airport and a 10 minute taxi ride from Santa Maria, this resort offers a choice of restaurants, stylish bars, a gymnasium and the luxurious YHI Spa for total rejuvenation. As you walk from the main complex through the cobbled pathways you pass the two large freshwater pool areas, one featuring a fabulous swim up pool bar. Upon arriving at the beach you are met with golden sand, a beautiful blue sea and the fabulous Ô Grille Beach Restaurant. There are 4 bars on site including 'Sway' lounge bar, swim-up pool bar and the late bar. For the more adventurous guests, sports such as diving, trekking, fishing or windsurfing can also be arranged.
There are a total of 271 luxurious residences including hotel rooms, one bedroom suites, two bedroom family suites & luxurious villas. The villas have their own private garden and plunge pool. All accommodation has been designed and furnished to a very impressive standard and we have chosen to base our pricing on the one bedroom suites.
Meliá Tortuga Beach & Spa is a little bit of paradise offering a mix of adult facilities plus separate children’s pool and mini club providing activities to be enjoyed throughout the day, making this resort suitable for couples and families.
Please note for safety reasons, we do not recommend bathing in the sea directly outside the hotel due to underlying rocks. For clear waters, simply walk 10 minutes south along the beach to Ponta Preta.
