What We Think
Set on the edge of the Norte national park, about 8km from Sal Rei and surrounded by nothing but sand dunes and a dried up river bed, Spinguera is a truly unique property with a sustainable ethos. Once a settlement for farmers and fishermen, this beautiful Eco Lodge has been transformed into a peaceful haven for rest and relaxation with an authentic Boa Vistan feel.
This charming property comprising of only 10 rooms is arranged in stylish stone cottages which have been beautifully designed to connect with their natural surroundings. Sculpted wood, stone and seashells form the decoration of most rooms as well as an abundance of linen drapes.
Whilst there is no swimming pool in the grounds, there are plenty of sun traps and shady hideaways on offer – while away the hours on one of the hammocks or soak up the sunshine on the cushions and loungers. The white sands and turquoise waters of Spinguera beach are also only a 10-minute walk across the dunes, where loungers and bali beds have been provided for your comfort. Although the sea can be rough at times, the picturesque bay is simply idyllic and the perfect spot for a stroll or a paddle. With a charming restaurant onsite, serving a fusion of Cape Verdean classics and Italian cuisine, it is highly recommended to upgrade to half or full board.
The food here is delicious and fresh and the service, friendly and personable. Spinguera Eco-Lodge is an ideal choice for those seeking an authentic and unspoilt location with little but the sea and a good book for company.
