You couldn’t be better located - situated in the central square of Mindelo.
It’s a win-win whatever room you choose; either overlook the bustling square or face towards the pool.
Located hotel right in the heart of Mindelo, São Vicente’s vibrant cultural capital, a stay at Oasis Porto Grande will provide complete comfort and convenience. The hotel’s bedrooms, all of which are refurbished, are set across two floors and enjoy attractive views, while the public areas also benefit from a recent upgrade. Evenings can be spent recharging in the lobby bar and listening to live music, or enjoying a drink on the terrace overlooking the atmospheric square. The hotel’s à la carte restaurant offers a mix of international and local traditional food.
During the day, you can relax around the inviting pool, or take an easy 15-minute stroll to Laginha Beach, where white sands and calm, turquoise water await, along with impressive views of Santa Antão, its magnificent silhouette in the distance. Or alternatively, you can simply make use of the great location by heading out to explore the shops, markets, eateries and architecture of marvellous Mindelo.
Another particularly rewarding experience of staying at Porto Grande is that being in the centre of Mindelo, there are ample cafes, bars and restaurants which offer live music most evenings, which will not disappoint.

São Vicente is home to Mindelo, the island's capital. Mindelo is the cultural capital of the islands and is a wonderful stop to include in any Cape Verdean itinerary.
Mindeo is proud of its rich heritage and traditions with art, music, and vibrant nightlife. The lively buzz of music from local bars, clubs and cafés will draw you in, where you can enjoy refreshing drinks and delicious food.
By day, pay a visit to Laginha Beach, the pristine white sand bay and Kalimba beach bar are the ideal home for a beach lover during their holiday. Casa Café Mindelo is a favourite, be sure to taste the grogue, a local beverage that comes in a variety of flavours.
SãO Vicente hosts two of the most lavish events in the archipelago - Carnival!
This is the island's highest peak, once you've reached the top (this can be done by car or by foot), the panoramas are magnificent. Allow them to take your breath away as your embrace the 360 views. You will be able to look over the whole city of Mindelo and out across the Atlantic.
This is highly recommended, as it is just a one-hour ferry ride across to the neighbouring island, and the only way to visit is from São Vicente. Experience the beautiful green peaks and the multitude of hiking routes.
The island's beaches are rugged and beautiful, slightly different to those of Sal or Boa Vista, but boast enough charm of their own.
It is in a fantastic location and boasts a delicious menu. Try the Cape Vedean classics whilst soaking up the excellent atmosphere and music.
