NEW 2014/15 Brochure

Independent tour operator, The Cape Verde Experience launches its November 2014 – October 2015 brochure this month. The specialist can arrange single-island and twin-centre trips, as well as a selection of themed and tailor-made island-hopping itineraries, plus a comprehensive excursion programme.

New Hotel Additions for 2014/15

Built against the hillside 24km from the island capital of Praia, this small hotel has the feeling of a rural retreat and is the perfect setting to enjoy the tranquillity of the mountains and have immediate access to excellent walking tours and trails. Features include a rooftop restaurant serving home grown produce, plus a bar complete with an observatory for viewing the panoramas and night sky.

The second new addition is the family-run Colonial Guest House located in the centre of the main town on Fogo, São Filipe. Dating back to 1883 and designed in the distinctive Sobrado style, this beautifully restored hotel offers a retreat for those wishing to see the volcano, plantations and vineyards that are key attractions of the island of Fogo.

Mega Yacht Cruises
The Cape Verde Experience is pleased to re-introduce Cape Verde archipelago cruises, operated by Variety Cruises. This season the 7-night cruise will be aboard the 55m Mega Yacht Harmony V, which will depart from the port of Praia, Santiago before going on to call at the islands of Fogo, São Nicolau, Santo Antão, São Vicente and Maio. Optional excursions are available to allow guests to experience the best of the archipelago from both the land and sea.

Tallship Sailing
The Cape Verde Experience is delighted to welcome back Tallship Sailing aboard the three-masted topsail schooner ‘Oosterschelde’ to its programme.  Built in 1918, this 50m long historic tall ship harmoniously blends a conventional sailing holiday with an exciting voyage of discovery. Setting sail from Sal, the tall ship voyage is of 11 nights’ duration and visits at least five more Cape Verde islands.

The Cape Verde Experience can book London Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham direct flights to the islands of Sal or Boa Vista.
UK Flights to Sal
This winter season (2014/15) Thomson Airways will offer twice-weekly flights from London Gatwick to Sal, as well as weekly departures from Manchester and Birmingham to Sal. Thomas Cook will also operate to Cape Verde this winter offering a weekly Gatwick and Manchester service to this island.
UK Flights to Boa Vista
With regards to direct flying to Boa Vista this winter (2014/15), Thomson Airways is the sole operator, offering twice-weekly flights from London Gatwick and Manchester to Boa Vista, as well as a weekly Birmingham – Boa Vista route. 

The Cape Verde Experience can also package holidays with scheduled TAP Air Portugal flights if desired. These however operate indirectly via Lisbon, but do offer the option of flying straight into the islands of São Vicente or Santiago. Internal flights within the Cape Verde archipelago are operated by TACV.
